Chicago Bulls guard Derrick Rose has reportedly been cleared to play by his doctor. However, the star point guard won’t come back until he can dunk of his left leg without hesitation.
This report came from a Bulls’ team source this afternoon. The source also said although the Bulls are not pressuring Rose to return, they are very confident he’ll return this season.
For Bulls fans, who have been waiting for what seems like forever now, this is another step in the right direction for Rose returning sooner rather than later.
This report, along with the young guard sitting on the bench last Sunday for the first time all season, are a clear indication to me that Rose is going to for sure make an attempt at playing for the Bulls in 2013. With the Bulls continuing to fall in the Eastern Conference standings —currently in sixth place— the time is now for Rose to return. The longer he waits, the harder it will be for Rose to be ready come playoff time.
While I highly doubt he will return to action before this week or the next, with this newest update on Rose, his return seems to be right around the corner. My guess for his comeback date is March 18 when the Bulls take on the Denver Nuggets at the United Center.
Like a few other updates on Rose have been, this report is somewhat hard to interrupt. On one hand, it’s a great sign Rose has been cleared by his doctor. On the other hand, Rose still not wanting to return shows he’s not 100 percent confident in his ability to preform like his old self.
