With Friday’s 115-86 loss to the Indiana Pacers, the Magic have lost at home by 24 points or more for the fifth time within the last month.
But at least Arron Afflalo has been trying to make things entertaining for Orlando fans and he hasn ‘t been doing that bad of a job.
Against the Pacers, Afflalo scored 19 points while shooting 6-of-13. He had two rebounds.
It would be preferable for the Magic if Afflalo could contribute in other areas, but the team continues to lick its wounds as it plays other squads needing a win to climb in the conference standings. At this time of the season, contending teams aren’t going to take the Magic lightly since they need every win they can possibly get.
He remains the steadiest Magic player during the season, averaging 16.8 points, 3.9 rebounds and 3.3 assists per game and is shooting 44.4 percent from the line shooting 5-of-16 in the 97-96 loss to the Miami Heat earlier in the week. Obviously, one more basket from Afflalo would have produced a golden win for the Magic.
Afflalo continues to do his share for the team, be just needs a few of his teammates to join the action.
The Magic continue to need Afflalo at his best, however. If he has a day off, it’s hard to determine who else on the Magic roster could compensate for his lack of production.
