Wednesday will be a day of revenge for the Houston Rockets; at least that’s what they’re anticipating after being embarrassed last Saturday, losing to the lowly Phoenix Suns 107-105.

Wednesday, the Suns come to Houston and the Rockets can ill afford two straight losses to a team that has been struggling all season. The Rockets need as many wins they can come up with this time of year so they can stay in the playoff hunt and secure a favorable playoff position.

It sure would’t hurt if Omer Asik would score a few more points.

Asik, who’s had a strong season for the Rockets in his third year with the pros, has been averaging 10.3 points, 11.8 rebounds and one assist per game. His rebounding continues to be excellent. Against the Suns in Saturday’s loss, he pulled down 16 boards, including six on the defensive end.

Despite seeing 38 minutes of NBA action, he was only 2-of-6 from the floor and didn’t shoot any threes or free throws and wound up with just four points. He’s had just 10 points in his past two games, but he shoots 53 percent from the floor. Usually when Asik puts something up, good things happen.

Wednesday against the Suns, Asik is expected to go to the hoop more aggressively and try to get his points total up. The Rockets need to be more of a major force inside than they were on Saturday and Asek will be able to help out in a major way. It will be a nice taste of revenge, if it happens.
