Indiana Pacers Clinch Spot in NBA Playoffs

Pat Lovell-USA TODAY Sports

After playing four games in five nights over the past week, the Indiana Pacers finally got the chance to have a few days of rest. The Pacers won their last two games in a row, and had the opportunity to get a short breather, before playing against the Milwaukee Bucks at Bankers Life Fieldhouse on Friday night. Oddly enough, one of the most important moves of this season happened to occur while the Pacers were on their short hiatus.

On Wednesday night, the Pacers were officially entered into the 2013 NBA Playoffs. Even though Indiana had the night off, they found themselves admitted to the NBA championship tournament. The Pacers got their bid to the NBA’s big dance because of a loss by the Philadelphia 76ers on Wednesday night. The 76ers got blown away by the Los Angeles Clippers, which let Indiana in the door for the postseason. This year will mark the third season in a row that the Pacers have made an appearance in the NBA Playoffs.

The Pacers are currently ranked in the second spot of the Eastern Conference playoff standings. Aside from their success so far this season, Indiana still has a lot to prove. The Eastern Conference seems to be decidedly thinner than the Western Conference, and this season could be the perfect opportunity for the Pacers to take advantage. If Indiana can step their game up, they just might find themselves meeting the Miami Heat in the Eastern Conference Finals.

Curry Shows Off With Half-Court Shot

It seems like Golden State Warriors PG Stephen Curry does something otherworldly on a daily basis nowadays. Last night against the Indiana Pacers, Curry casually threw up a half-court shot as time expired in the first-half, and it went in because of course it did.
