James Anderson Wants Houston Rockets To Give Him More Chances

James Anderson is like several players on the Houston Rockets roster; he’s simply trying to catch coach Kevin McHale‘s eyes with whatever playing time he gets.  Anderson didn’t hurt himself with his performance against the Cleveland Cavaliers on Friday night, but he’ll need to do more for McHale to keep a closer eye on him in upcoming NBA games.

Friday’s game gave McHale a lot of flexibility in seeing all the talent he has since the Rockets won handily 116-78 and could give the regulars extensive rest.

Anderson got 12 minutes of action and handled himself very well which will likely motivate McHale to give him more time in upcoming games. He was 5-of-6 from the floor. Any time a player sees limited minutes and makes almost all of his shots means he has something going on and his coach needs to take a closer look at his potential.

It also depends on the players the other team was using, but Anderson was obviously doing a lot to merit another look from his coach. He also had four rebounds and an assist.

In only his third season, Anderson is at 3.5 points a game but has only played limited minutes. He’s played 20 games with Houston since being signed earlier this year after the San Antonio Spurs put him on waivers.

His numbers have been similar to what they were with San Antonio, but Anderson has been delivering more for the Rockets when he gets more minutes. McHale might want to keep an eye on him.
