The New Orleans Hornets have shown a flair for the dramatic lately. They gave up a 16 point lead in the fourth qurater against the Memphis Grizzlies on Friday, but then scrapped back and won 90-83.

Robin Lopez scored 23 points and grabbed 10 rebounds, and Anthony Davis pitched in as well with 18 points and 15 boards.

“Defense is where it’s at. We can get mesmerized by a great offense and we all want that,” Hornets coach Monty Williams said. “I certainly welcome it, but at the end of the day that’s who we are. If we are ever going to do anything big here in this town it’s going to start on that end of the floor.”

This may have been the difference in the game. The Hornets appear to have been focused on defense and the Grizzlies were more worried about offense.

“We were just trying to make shots,” Mike Conley said. “We were trying to speed the game up and get more opportunities; get into the paint and get more free throw opportunities. We did not do these things well and did not get back in the game.”

Anthony Davis now has 16 double-doubles this year, which is double that of anyone else in the league. Wow. The future is bright for this young team and Davis could develop into one of the all time greats.
