DeMarcus Cousins Shows Sacramento Kings He’s Complete Package
Everyone knows what a magnificent talent DeMarcus Cousins is for the Sacramento Kings.
On Thursday, the Kings scored an impressive 117-103 victory against the Phoenix Suns. Cousins took advantage of an opponent that had two of its big men out with injuries.
Cousins came up big with a season-high 34 points and netting 14 rebounds. Cousins was 9-of-9 on free throws and even went 1-for-2 on 3-pointers.
From the floor, Cousins was 12-of-16. For the season, he’s been shooting 46 percent from the floor. Against the Suns, he couldn’t miss and was playing and shooting with an enormous amount of confidence.
When Cousins plays with confidence, he’s as good as any young player in the NBA. He played so well that Kings coach Keith Smart noted that Cousins has the talent of a guard and is the whole package.
He’s been riddled with some temper moods this season, but no one can deny the talent that Cousins gives his team. He’s averaging 17 points, 10 rebounds and 3.0 assists a game.
But he’s been quiet in recent games. He woke up in a major way against the Suns. The rest of the NBA has to take notice of what he’s doing.
His numbers continue to be better than his career marks in which he was at 16.34 points and 9.8 rebounds per game, and his shooting percentage was .447. The Kings aren’t going to the playoffs, but Cousins can have fun with the remaining games on the schedule and show the rest of the NBA what he’s got. If he gets better next season, the Kings will be very dangerous.
