All eyes continue to be on the Sacramento Kings‘ DeMarcus Cousins, but not to see how many points and rebounds he can get for the rest of the season.
Cousins played well on Saturday when the Kings lost 103-98 to the Los Angeles Lakers. He had a solid performance with 19 points and 10 rebounds. However, Cousins let his temper get the best of him again. Late in the second quarter, he picked up his 14th technical foul of the season and is only two tech fouls away from a one-game suspension.
Cousins has been doing better in keeping control of his temper. However, it’s obviously something he’s going to have to work at for the rest of his NBA career. He doesn’t exactly have an on-and-off switch. It comes and it goes and it would appear he has relatively little control over it.
Cousins is only 22 years old so it’s not like he’s going to calm at that age soon. He just has to try playing around his temper. He was 8-of-20 in shooting from the floor against the Lakers in 39 strong minutes. However, at the previous game against the Phoenix Suns, he was on the court for 30 minutes and shot 12-of-16 from the floor and 9-of-9 from the line for 34 points with 14 rebounds.
Cousins just needs to behave himself. When he does, not many other players are any better on the court. He can be as good as we wants to be.
