This year has been a season to remember for the Denver Nuggets and with the playoffs right around the corner–this may be the last team anyone wants to play in the Western Conference. What’s even more impressive is the Nuggets managed to pull off a big win over one of the top teams in the Western Conference in the San Antonio Spurs on Wednesday while making a little bit of history in the process as well.

Not only did Denver tie a franchise record for wins in a season with 54 during their 96-86 win over San Antonio, but they picked up their 21st-straight win at home as well–which is pretty impressive. Andre Iguodala led the way for the Nuggets by recording a triple-double with 12 points, 13 rebounds, and 10 assists to help the team improve to 36-3 at home during the regular season.

Despite their impressive win on Wednesday, the Nuggets still trail the Oklahoma City Thunder by three games in the Northwest Division, but they still have the third-best record in the Western Conference. Even if they do fall short of winning the division title this year, Denver has plenty of potential heading into the playoffs and seem to be one of the most dangerous teams in the Western Conference.

From their impressive winning streaks to the franchise records they’ve set, this team has proven it has what it takes to make a run at the NBA Finals–which is why they should be fun to watch over the next couple of weeks.
