Phoenix Suns Should Fire Lindsey Hunter At Season’s End
The Phoenix Suns have been one of the worst teams in the whole NBA this season and sit with a 24-55 record after losing on Wednesday night. Phoenix has the third-worst record in the league and is just 4-16 since March 1. This team is in desperate need of a new leader, and it is time that the Suns fire Lindsey Hunter. You can let Hunter finish the season if you want, but he has to go after that.
There are some young players who have talent like Goran Dragic on this team, but when you have a coach who looks like he is in over his head in a Western Conference full of talent, change is necessary. Phoenix needs to go out and find themselves either a great assistant on one of the top teams or find a coach who is unemployed right now that can put this team on the right track. There are many options out there for the team to go after, but they have to make the right decision on this.
It isn’t going to get any easier for the Suns in the coming years, so trying to rebuild with a new coach and a likely high draft pick could turn some things around. Dragic is signed for another couple of years and Marcin Gortat will be around as well. Those two are great building blocks to start with. Phoenix might not get a ton of help from the draft, so free agency is the key. That means getting a new coach in place as soon as possible so free agents actually want to play for the Suns.
