Come playoff time, every single team wants to have home court advantage. The Brooklyn Nets secured just that with a convincing road win over the current three seed in the Eastern Conference. The Nets guaranteed themselves at least the 4 seed, but also drew themselves within two games of the Indiana Pacers by defeating them tonight.

Not only did the Nets secure home-court advantage tonight, they also showed that they can be a serious competitor in the playoffs. Deron Williams, Joe Johnson and Brook Lopez all showed they have the talent and ability to carry the Nets to victories over playoff caliber teams.

The Nets “Big 3” had a fantastic performance tonight and wouldn’t take a loss as a result. Williams showed why he is such a great player with his ability to score, but also pass. He dished out 14 assists, most of which came to Lopez or Johnson.  Not only was he able to create plays for his teammates, but he was also able to score himself as he had a game high 33 points.

Lopez was 10-16 from the field to earn him 24 points and Johnson added 24 as well for the hot Nets.

It was an overall great shooting night for Brooklyn, and they are going to need nights like that when they go on the road come playoff time.

For the Pacers, tonight was not a very good loss. You need to protect your home court in the playoffs and tonight they didn’t do that against a playoff team.

Most people see them as a contender to the Miami Heat, but if they protect their house against the Nets, what makes anyone believe they can do it against the best team in the NBA?

With only a handful of games left in the regular season, you want to play your best basketball now. This game was a good start for the Nets and a bad one for the Pacers.
