On the second night of a back-to-back, the Chicago Bulls could have shown fatigue and let another game slip away. However, the Bulls came out with energy and were able to blowout the Orlando Magic 102-84 Monday night to improve to 44-37 on the season.
There was no one player who stood out for the Bulls, although Luol Deng led the team with 18 points. Instead, the Bulls were able to secure the victory with a nice overall team effort. One thing that stood out from the Bulls was their excellent ball movement. There was no player that had more than eight assists for the Bulls, but the team was able to get 33 assists on the night. The Bulls’ excellent ball movement was the difference maker against the Magic and it was no surprise that the team was able to score 102 points.
There have been times this season when the Bulls’ offense has been stagnant, but Monday night was a display of how good the Bulls can be when they move the ball around. The Magic’s defense never stood a chance as the Bulls’ offense got whatever they wanted whenever they wanted. Going forward the Bulls should definitely look at Monday’s game against the Magic as a reference for how they should run their offense.
With the playoffs starting later this week the Bulls should look to gain some momentum. No matter whom the Bulls play in the first round they will be a difficult match-up for opposing teams. The Bulls could prove to be a very dangerous team in the playoffs because of their great defense.
Furthermore, if the Bulls’ offense can come alive like it did Monday night in Orlando then the Bulls could be primed for a deep playoff run. Opposing teams should not sleep on the Bulls because when they are clicking on all cylinders they have proven that they can beat just about anyone.
