It’s all set, folks. The Chicago Bulls are in the 2013 NBA Playoffs where anything can happen. The problem is, not many people have faith that the Bulls can go very far. Their first round matchup with the Brooklyn Nets starts Saturday, where they look to continue their regular season success against Deron Williams and company (Bulls won regular season series 3-1).
One individual in particular thinks the Bulls are far from done. It should come as no surprise that this attitude is specifically coming from All-Star center Joakim Noah.
A few days ago, Noah posted his sentiments on Twitter and his quote never got very much attention. I’m here to tell you — it should.
Sunday, Noah tweeted, “A lot of basketball left chi. Watch.”
Just announced today, Noah will be listed as doubtful for Game 1 tomorrow against the Nets. Those words are quite a statement to make when you’re not likely to suit up right away.
For the Bulls to win Game 1 without Noah, they will need their typical guys to step up in his absence. Luol Deng, Carlos Boozer and Nate Robinson will have to have big games for the Bulls.
Whether Noah returns to action during this series, or potentially the second round if they make it that far, is the big question for Chicago. Both him and point guard Derrick Rose remain out of the lineup and leave fans awaiting their returns.
Game 1 is tomorrow in Brooklyn. The Bulls have a clean slate. Let’s see what they can do.
