Solomon Hill had a terrific, four-year career at Arizona and after things ended in the Sweet 16 of the NCAA Tournament this past March, the 6-foot-7 small forward is now taking the next step forward by heading to the 2013 NBA Draft. Hill emerged more and more throughout his career, raising his point per game average with each passing season. His last two years in a Wildcats’ uniform were his must successful, in which he averaged at least 13 points per game.
Hill has an immense amount of athleticism and his physicality allows him to take advantage against smaller match-ups. With great size, Hill has had the ability in the past to cause some match-up problems, but can he continue to take advantage of things at the NBA level?
Expect Hill to hear his name called within the second round of the NBA Draft.
Strengths: Hill has great versatility with the ability to post up small defenders, but he can also step outside and use his athleticism to his advantage. Hill can score in a variety of ways and can rebound well for his size. Hill has continued to add various aspects to his game over the years, so his upside remains an important piece of his strengths moving forward.
Weaknesses: Hill is an in-between forward. He doesn’t have the greatest of quickness on the perimeter and his creativity sometimes can work against him. Hill needs to expand his perimeter game more at the NBA level because he won’t be able to play as physical as he did at the collegiate level given the match-ups that he will likely have to deal with.
