Michael Beasley Could be in Trouble With Phoenix Suns

Jennifer Stewart-USA TODAY Sports

Michael Beasley has had a career that many people would consider a bust considering he was drafted second overall. There are now reports that Beasley is being investigated for a reported sexual assault. The incident happened back in January and Beasley was never arrested or charged with anything. This puts another dark cloud over him as he tries to live up to his lofty expectations.

Beasley averaged 10.1 points a game this season in 75 games for the Phoenix Suns and has averaged over 14 points a game in his career. These allegations however are going to cost Beasley a lot, whether they are true or not.

It is a shame though because even if nothing comes of this, he is going to look bad in the eyes of many people. Phoenix obviously won’t make a decision on Beasley until all the facts come out, but the question to me is why are we just hearing about it now?

This happened nearly four months ago. I’d think that it would have been dealt with a long time ago. I don’t know if the complaint was just filed, but that seems like a long time to wait if that is the case. It is going to be up to Beasley when the next season begins to put this past him — if he is still on the team.

He may not be the player that a lot of people wanted him to be when he entered the NBA, but he can still be a serviceable player if he can keep himself out of trouble. We will have to find out if he has done that in this situation, however.
