Position: Power Forward

Augusto Cesar Lima is an original native of Brazil, but he is entering the 2013 NBA Draft by way of Unicaja Malaga in Spain. Cesar Lima stands at 6-foot-10 and actually spent this past season on the same European club as former UConn point guard and first round draft pick, Marcus Williams. Cesar Lima can be tough to stop inside and he continues to play through the contact and offer a front court anchor. Cesar Lima averaged only 3.1 points and 2.5 rebounds per game, but that was on only 11 minutes per contest.
Cesar Lima will turn 22 in September, but he could have the potential to be drafted within the second round. He’s certainly not an instant impact player, but one NBA organization may see enough in him to draft him late.
Strengths: Cesar Lima uses his strength well and he can play directly through contact inside. He’s efficient on his shot selection and he’s the perfect guy to excel in pick and roll scenarios. Cesar Lima has an increasing potential on the defensive end and he has the upside to become more of an all-around player in the coming years.
Weaknesses: Cesar Lima can use some work on his jump shot and his increasing range. He’s good in pick and roll scenarios, but it’d be a lot better if he could pick and pop with a jump shot. Given his height and his athleticism, he needs to improve and live up to the potential that he is showing on the defensive end. Cesar Lima also needs to be stronger with the ball on the offensive end.
Draft Projection: Late Second Round to Undrafted
