Joffrey Lauvergne is entering the 2013 NBA Draft as a legitimate second round hopeful. It’s going to be interesting to see if Lauvergne hears his name called on draft night, but at 6-foot-11, there’s a chance that some NBA organization could make that call.

Lauvergne reportedly reached an agreement with Partizan Belgrade for the next two and a half years back in late December, so this power forward could face some initial issues in coming to the NBA. Patrizan is a member of the Serbian professional league, but Lauvergne originally hails from France. He has great size for the power forward position, but he will turn 22 years of age in September and his contract in Serbia is certainly something to follow if an NBA organization takes a chance on him in the second round.

Strengths: Lauvergne has good size at 6-foot-11 and he is considered to be amongst the top international prospect from the class that was born in 1991. He has good range and can step outside and hit the three ball. Lauvergne is very active on offense and can move around the half court well for someone his size. This makes him a viable option in pick and pop situations.

Weaknesses: Lauvergne needs to get bigger or he could be a liability on the defensive end and in the paint. He has withdrawn his name from the NBA Draft in recent years and his age (22) and contact with Partizan Belgrade are some red flags that limit his ceiling and potential in the NBA.

Draft Projection: Late Second to Undrafted
