2013 NBA Draft Prospect Profile: Kevin Parrom, Small Forward, Arizona

Casey Sapio-USA Today Sports

Name: Kevin Parrom

Age: 22

Height: 6-foot-6

Position: Small Forward

School/Country: Arizona

Latest Stats: 8.3 ppg, 4.9 rpg, 1.9 apg

Arizona wing Kevin Parrom has bounced back from a number of unfortunate situations during his four year career with the Wildcats. Parrom lost both his mother and grandmother in that span, survived a shooting and bounced back just this past year from a season-ending injury back in 2012. Parrom continues to push through the adversity that comes his way, making him one of the biggest emotional leaders in college basketball this past season.

Parrom has decent size at 6-foot-6, but he’s not much of a scorer. Parrom never averaged double-figures in any of his four seasons at Arizona, but the small forward has always been amongst  some of the top players off the bench for head coach Sean Miller. Parrom doesn’t have much of a chance of hearing his name called on draft night, but he does have the tools for a professional career overseas.

Strengths: Parrom brings a sense of mental toughness to any squad. He’s an emotional leader and at 6-foot-6 a reliable wing on both ends of the floor. Parrom is a pretty good defender and he has good quickness and athleticism.

Weaknesses: Parrom isn’t much of a scorer, so he needs to work on his all around game as he gets older. Parrom needs to become a better outside shooter and he should be more physical given his size.

Draft Projection: Undrafted
