Adidas announced Thursday that Chicago Bulls superstar point guard Derrick Rose is all set to return to the Philippines and Europe for this year’s D-Rose Tour.
The former NBA MVP is scheduled to make a three-day appearance in Manila from September 14–16, before traveling to other parts of Asia and Europe, an Adidas official reported. This will mark the second time in three years that Rose has visited Manila. His last visit occurred in 2011 for a pair of exhibition games with other NBA stars at the Smart Araneta Coliseum during the NBA lockout in 2011.
A multitude of exciting and exclusive events are planned for Rose’s arrival in Manila. Included on the agenda will be a basketball competition, meet and greet opportunities, social media campaigns and, of course, an exclusive party.
Even before Rose’s arrival in Manila, high school basketball players from the Philippines, Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore and Thailand will compete in regional 3-on-3 basketball tournaments. Winning teams from these countries will have the chance to meet and showcase their basketball skills for Rose while in Manila.
The tour presents the opportunity of a lifetime for fans globally. A retail promotion across Southeast Asia will run from July to August, providing customers with the opportunity to win All-Access VIP passes to D-Rose Tour activities.
The D-Rose Tour is part of Adidas’ most expensive and large-scale effort to connect their partner athletes with fans, expand the game and showcase the latest from Adidas Basketball.
