Chicago Bulls Rumors: Luol Deng to Washington Wizards Reportedly Being Discussed

If you didn’t know by now, the Chicago Bulls are apparently looking to shop Luol Deng.

The interest and potential deals that are being discussed probably don’t come as all that much a surprise, but what type of value can the Bulls get for Deng? According to numerous reports, the Bulls are in talks with the Washington Wizards about potentially moving Deng to D.C. exchange for the 3rd overall pick and Emeka Okafor.

While the rumor is just that for the time being, it’s certainly something that may have some ground as this week rolls along.

ESPN first reported the news of the discussions and from a Bulls’ perspective, this could be quite the move. For the Wizards, well it’s intriguing to say the least. Washington has been heavily linked to Otto Porter Jr. and it appeared like that was the team’s likely selection, although Anthony Bennett was also on their immediate radar, among others. However, the chance to add Deng is interesting, simply considering Porter is much younger and cheaper for the time being.

As for Chicago however, well the addition of Okafor could help the inside rotation, but it’s that No. 3 selection that gives them the most opportunity. The Bulls could use a young play maker on the wing and they might have their own interest in Porter Jr. If not, maybe even Victor Oladipo or Ben McLemore depending on how the top two picks play out. Then of course, is the off chance that Nerlens Noel slips to three, who really knows at this point — it’s all speculation until Thursday.

It’s an interesting rumor and it will certainly be one to monitor as this week plays it course.
