Well, the Golden State Warriors just got a heck of a lot better. Trading the contracts of Brandon Rush, Andris Biedrins and Richard Jefferson allowed them to bring in Andre Iguodala on a four year deal, making them one of the top Western Conference favorites next season.

With their cap situation at the moment, it is still quite possible they execute a sign-and-trade with the Los Angeles Lakers for Dwight Howard. But, what’s not so possible is the re-signing of free agent point guard and fan favorite Jarrett Jack.

In fact, Jack tweeted immediately following the Iguodala signing:

Jack brought a ton of energy and great scoring off the bench for the Warriors throughout the season and on into the postseason. Fans will miss him if he indeed has to walk away. Golden State won’t have the money to bring him back at this point.

A couple of months ago after their playoff exit, Jack said in a post game interview that he loves the feeling he gets putting on the Warriors jersey and he hopes he can stay here for quite a while. Unfortunately, it looks like his short stint in Golden State is over.

There will be plenty of interest in Jack from other teams now, assuming he understands what kind of market he’s in. Teams won’t necessarily sign him to be a starter, therefore he needs to know he will be making backup money despite his great year in 2012. In any event, Jack appears to know it’s over and is ready to move on.
