Kent Bazemore is making a name for himself, but it doesn’t have much to do with how he plays basketball.

The Golden State Warriors‘ notorious bench-warmer is being personified in the new NBA 2K14 as the guy on the bench who freaks out at big plays. You know you’ve seen it before.  Stephen Curry drains a three, Bazemore does the moonwalk. Jarret Jack connects with Klay Thompson for a monster alley-oop, Bazemore frolics around the sidelines like a leprechaun.

Bazemore is becoming known for his excessive celebrations. So much so that the famous video game brought him in to motion capture his movements so that every time you hit a big three in the game, Bazemore will go crazy on the bench.

He shouldn’t be upset about it. He has to make a name for himself somehow.  The Old Dominion University product hasn’t made much noise with his game, so this is the best way for him to get exposure.

His value, and jersey sales for that matter, are sure to go up with the recent developments. Cameras are going to follow his every move any time the Warriors make a big play.  Bazemore may get his chance to shine on the floor eventually, but he should consider it an honor to be included in one of the game’s biggest NBA video games.

If nothing else, his excitement for his teammates helps get the crowd hyped. He’s like the head cheerleader, and now he can say he’s in the same company as LeBron James, Kobe Bryant and Carmelo Anthony, even if it has nothing to do with how he plays the game.
