Denver Nuggets Rumors: Is Ty Lawson On Trading Block?

Cary Edmondson – USA TODAY Sports

The Denver Nuggets fell out of the first round of the 2013 Western Conference Playoffs, losing to the Golden State Warriors and consequently fired head coach George Karl.

The Nuggets hired Brian Shaw, who will probably have a long, successful NBA coaching career. Shaw was in line to coach the Los Angeles Lakers after Phil Jackson, but Mike Brown got the job.

So, he went to the Indiana Pacers as an assistant coach. Then, he was looked at by the Brooklyn Nets, and instead, they went with Jason Kidd. Denver got a steal in a great future head coach when they chose Shaw.

Now, the question is whether Shaw will try and keep this Denver team together or try and put his own spin on the team with new additions to the roster. Could a trade be in the future for arguably the Nuggets’ best player, Ty Lawson?

There is no way Lawson is going anywhere else. The Nuggets could get a lot of draft picks and some great young talent, but it would be a mistake to get rid of him. Denver may be a few pieces away from a legitimate chance at a sustained run in the NBA Playoffs, but Lawson is clearly the key to their success.

Lawson is the type of player that the Nuggets need to continue to build around. Shaw is a smart coach and won’t go after older stars in the hope that they can pull off something like Brooklyn. He will continue to work this team, including Lawson. Expect big things in the future from Lawson and the Nuggets.

Grizzlies' Chalmers Takes Cheap Shot At Nurkic

Since arriving in the NBA as a rookie out of Kansas, Mario Chalmers has had a tough road to climb as he's never really gotten a true opportunity to be the top guy. Now with Memphis, he's had an opportunity to start a few games with Mike Conley battling a back injury, but he shows in this video that he's still too immature to take advantage.
