Orlando Magic Need Victor Oladipo To Succeed

Victor Oladipo

The Orlando Magic have not necessarily been best team in the NBA since Dwight Howard left. They did finish last season with a 20-62 record. The team is clearly looking to rebuild. As a result, Orlando desperately needs Victor Oladipo to succeed.

Oladipo has so much talent and his statistics do not tell his entire story. Whether the case, he did manage to average 13.6 points, 6.3 rebounds, 2.2 steals and 2.1 assists per game this past season for the Indiana Hoosiers.

Cody Zeller got a lot of the hype entering last season, but Oladipo got his fair share of buzz the entire year. So, his draft stock went up, hence being picked No. 2 overall in this year’s draft. I think that was a little high. This could put pressure on Oladipo to succeed and it would blow up in Orlando’s face if he did not, since they passed on so many great players in the draft with the No. 2 pick overall.

Whether if that was a too high for Oladipo or not, the Magic are not a good team and they could really use a great season out of him. He will only be a rookie, but talent is talent.

Oladipo is listed as a shooting guard, he is very athletic and he has a lot to offer. It will be interesting to see what kind of role he plays for the Magic and how he will be used, but he should be a fun player to watch all season long.

The Magic will likely not turn it all around in one season, but it would definitely help if Oladipo has a big year regardless. He could be the future in Orlando, but he will need some help from fellow teammates.

Coming off of a horrible season, Orlando is in rebuilding mode, but hopefully that process does not take too long.
