Victor Oladipo is going to get plenty of minutes next year barring injury, so until the foreseeable future he has to be seen as the favorite to win Rookie of the Year. He will put up great numbers from a defensive and rebounding standpoint. It remains to be seen if he can play point guard full time, but only time will reveal that next season. Oladipo was one of Bill Simmons’ favorite players when he did the Grantland interviews with Jalen Rose. I highly recommend checking those out if you never saw them before the draft. Some of those young men definitely helped their stock with their interviews to be sure.

I could see Oladipo averaging somewhere around 16 points per game to go along with excellent all around numbers. The number of assists he notches per game will have a huge effect on his rookie of the year chances as well. He impressed greatly at summer league so I only anticipate it getting better for him as the year moves on. Overall, if he avoids injury he would be my pick to win rookie of the year, but we will just have to see if Anthony Bennett has something special in store for us. On to the race!
