Portland Trail Blazers Need To Deal A Center

Portland Trail Blazers

The Portland Trail Blazers are stacked at the big man position, but the team still needs to deal a center.

LaMarcus Aldridge is coming off of a great season where he averaged 21.1 points per game and 9.1 rebounds per game. Those are great numbers and I would keep him if I were the Blazers. However, I am not and there have been many trade rumors about the great center being moved.

Robin Lopez is new to the team and he managed to score 11.3 points per game and averaged 5.6 rebounds per game last season. Lopez is likely the center of the future for Portland, especially if Meyers Leonard never meets expectations.

Speaking of which, he is the other center and he averaged 5.5 points per game and 3.7 rebounds per game last season.

Having too many centers is definitely a good problem to have since that position is not the easiest one to fill in the NBA. There are not many elite scoring centers in the NBA, which is why Dwight Howard is always such a hot commodity.

That is why I think the team should try and keep Aldridge, but with Lopez coming to the team and trade rumors going around, that will likely not happen.

Whether the case, Portland has plenty of talent at the center position, but who knows how long that will last. The Trail Blazers are coming off of a 33-49 season, so they are definitely in rebuilding mode. With a lot of talented players, hopefully that process does not take too long.
