The NBA released its 2013-2014 regular season schedule on Tuesday, August 6. Some people say that the regular season is meaningless and too long, but there's a lot of anticipation and excitement brewing for the Chicago Bulls after a frustrating and injury-plagued season in 2012-2013. The Bulls scratched and clawed their way to the playoffs, but was eventually knocked out in the second round by the NBA champion Miami Heat.

The Bulls are ready to get back to work and prove that they are still legitimate title contenders when healthy. So when the schedule was released, the biggest questions for most Bulls fans was "who do they play the first game of the season?" and "when can they expect former MVP and superstar Derrick Rose to make his triumphant return to the United Center?" Well, the NBA and its schedule-makers did not disappoint and answered those questions immediately. The schedule is very daunting and competitive from top to bottom. It will be a challenge and difficult season as usual, but coach Tom Thibodeau will have his players grinding and ready for a championship run.

The roster is loaded with seasoned veterans, wing players, big men and rookies ready to contribute right away. But the biggest wild card coming back is their main weapon, point guard Derrick Rose. He is the difference-maker no matter what the schedule looks like. He will determine if the Bulls are contenders or just a very good team that gets bounced out the playoffs. Here's a look at five of the most important and exciting matchups of the Chicago Bulls 2013-2014 schedule.
