Team USA Minicamp Gave Washington Wizards Point Guard John Wall Enough Confidence To Reach Playoffs This Season
John Wall had the chance this summer to play against some of the best competition in the world at Team USA’s minicamp. No cuts were made, it was simply an evaluating period for the coaching staff and the chance for them to start building relationships with the players.
Whether Wall makes the 2014 World Cup roster is irrelevant, because just the experience of competing and succeeding against players like Kyrie Irving and Anthony Davis will help Wall next season.
The Washington Wizards actually had a pretty solid record when Nene, Bradley Beal, and Wall were all healthy at the same time and if they can carry that over into next season then you are looking at a playoff team.
The Wizards proceeded to give Wall a max extension this summer and they will be expecting results. Wall has the same expectations for himself and he recently called himself the best point guard in the league. Wall will have to prove it on the court, but we will see what he can do next year starting the season healthy.
He has said that he is the best point guard in the league but let us just see if he can make the All Star team while leading the Wizards to the playoffs. Then, and only then can that conversation begin.
