Phoenix Suns: New Year, New Faces and New Uniforms

Rick Scuteri-USA TODAY Sports

The Phoenix Suns have made it clear they are preparing for the future. The team has made a few moves this offseason in preparation to build a team that can win in a few years, starting with the NBA Draft.

Phoenix drafted arguably one of the top prospects in center Alex Len out of Maryland with the fifth overall pick. Later, the Suns took Archie Goodwin, guard out of Kentucky with the 29th overall pick.

After reloading through the draft, they proceeded to execute a trade for former Los Angeles Clippers guard Eric Bledsoe in order to bolster their starting five and scoring potential. The latest big move came when the team traded forward Luis Scola to the Indiana Pacers in an effort to get younger overall.

The Suns also went out and hired Jeff Hornacek, a first time head coach, to help with building this youth movement the franchise is embarking on. With all of the new faces in town, the Suns are excited about the possibility of winning in the future — not necessarily now.

To help give the team a new flare, the organization is set to unveil new uniforms Thursday night in Scottsdale. Both Len and Goodwin will be their to help with the cause along with Bledsoe and P.J. Tucker.

The new uniforms should feature less purple and more black, according to some of the reports. They will also be throwing in a new ‘S logo’ to accompany their standard logo. Look for the uniforms to be revealed sometime Thursday night and see what all the hype is about.
