Indiana Pacers Get First Shot at Derrick Rose in Preseason Opener

Brian Spurlock-USA TODAY Sports

As of recent, the Indiana Pacers finally released their full preseason schedule. The first game happens to be against the division rival Chicago Bulls. The division rivalry won’t be the big story on the Saturday night of October 5, but it will be the return of Derrick Rose.

After making it far in the playoffs and a very good offseason, the Pacers look to come back with a vengeance and continue to prove the doubters wrong. After making it to the semi-finals of last season’s playoffs with stars injured, only fighting with heart and toughness, the Bulls will surely come out strong to try and sit atop the Eastern Conference once again. With D-Rose making his long-awaited return, the Bulls should come out with the hype on their side. Put all that together, and that surely makes a good preseason opener in Bankers Life Fieldhouse in Indianapolis, Indiana.

Preseason is really meant to build team chemistry, and try out the players that haven’t yet proven themselves. Preseason games mean nothing by the time May rolls around, but with the return of one of the NBA‘s brightest stars, all of the NBA and its fans will tune in to see the Chicago native step foot on the hardwood once again.

The Pacers should of course not be distracted by all the media attention this game will get when it comes up, and will try to limit Rose to creating any big plays that could make the top plays the next morning.

Tune into to the preseason game with the most hype this season on Saturday, October 5 in Indianapolis.
