Lamar Odom Missing After Reported Drug Binge

According to TMZ reports, a failed intervention is the reason behind Lamar Odom‘s recent disappearance. TMZ also went on to say the Kardashian clan stepped in to address Odom’s purported crack cocaine drug abuse. The report also stated Odom was kicked out of the house. As of Sunday Odom has been missing for the last 72 hours with family members on both sides unable to reach the superstar.

If in fact Odom is on some ‘drug binge’ as TMZ claims and he just up and returns it’s an issue that definitely will have the NBA‘s attention. When rumors of drug abuse are thrown out publicly, best believe the NBA will launch an investigation and possibly a drug test. It will also likely include a lengthy suspension. If Odom is NOT on a drug binge like TMZ and the Kardashians claim it’s still a detriment to his NBA career. I think teams have grown weary of Odom, and it’ll take a team that’s reaching in desperation or looking to fill out the roster. Odom’s five points in 17 minutes of playoff action with the Los Angeles Clippers were terrible by all means. His 35 percent FG shooting was atrocious as well. He remains a free agent.

In my opinion the troubles for Lamar began when he was supposedly ‘screwed’ over by Mitch Kupchak. Lamar really felt like he would remain with the Los Angeles Lakers, but that just didn’t happen. Odom was shipped to the Dallas Mavericks where he seemed unmotivated in the games he did play. Odom also refused to report to a D-league rehab assignment. The Mavs, at first glance, seemed to be a great fit for Odom; he wasn’t being asked to be the man, and the Mavericks at that time were pretty set. In reality Odom just needed to provide quality minutes. That was something he used to be good for, but sadly those days are gone.

It’s troubling that Odom has been missing for 72 hours and you would hope he doesn’t do anything stupid in the meantime or do anything drastic. Where is Lamar? I have no clue, and I wish I had a network of sources to fill me in. Until then we wait for Odom to resurface.
