Chicago Bulls: Derrick Rose Is Motivated To Reclaim The Throne As Best Player
Mike Dinovo – USA TODAY Sports

Once upon a time, Chicago Bulls superstar Derrick Rose was on top of the NBA mountain.

He was considered one of the most dominant and unstoppable players in the league. Then he had a major ACL injury in the 2012 playoffs and sat out the whole 2013 season. Now people have forgotten who Derrick Rose is. It’s time for him to show why fans fell in love with him in the first place and dominate this game again.

Recently, Rose was asked by a reporter who the the best player in the NBA was. Rose looked at the reporter and said with a straight face that he was the best. As soon as those words came out of his mouth, people immediately jumped on Twitter and every other social media site to ridicule him.

Some of the comments were saying, “how can he be the best when he hasn’t played in two years?”  “Has he ever heard of LeBron James?”

Those fans forget that back in 2011, Rose asked, “Why can’t I be the MVP?” That same year, he backed up his claim and was the MVP.

Rose knows he has a lot of work to do to become elite again. He angered a lot of fans and media types when he made the decision to sit out the entire season. I believe it was a very smart move. He wasn’t mentally prepared or physically ready to compete to his standards. His teammates had no problem with him sitting out, and neither should we as fans.

So can Rose be the best player in the NBA? If he is motivated and healthy, yes he can. He wants to prove to all those naysayers and haters who doubted him for the decision to sit out the entire season. He has worked on his game to become even more unstoppable. If he returns to the MVP form of 2011 — watch out, basketball world.
