Will Indiana Pacers' Danny Granger Hold Up As Season Approaches?

After missing all but five games last season after suffering a knee injury, Danny Granger is apparently on schedule with his rehab, according to head coach Frank Vogel.

This should be expected as Granger pretty much had the whole season off, but it is a sigh of relief for Indiana Pacers fans. Paul George has taken over the team as its leader while Granger was away, but that doesn’t make Granger’s presence any less important.

He is a solid scorer who can make a shot when you need him to, and bring along some pretty good defense as well. He may have his flaws, but a healthy Granger makes a team better for sure by overcoming any and all of those shortcomings.

We are still about a month and a week away from the beginning of preseason, so Granger certainly has plenty of time to make sure he is all rested up for another season. The only thing fans can hope for in this case is that Granger doesn’t re-injure his knee while he’s back at it next season. The Pacers can live without him as we saw last season, but he does make an obvious improvement to the team when he is out there.

We’ll just have to wait to see how Granger holds up as the new season creeps closer.
