Andrew Bogut’s injury history over his eight seasons in the NBA has not been the most favorable thing in the world. He’s missed over half of the season in three of his eight seasons in the league, including his first full year with the Golden State Warriors last year, and has missed significant time in all but two seasons.

He ended up playing just 32 games in the regular season for Golden State last season. He started all 32 of those contests and averaged 5.8 points, 7.7 rebounds and 1.7 blocks in 24.6 minutes per game, though he shot only 45.1 percent from the field. However, he was still trying to get back to full health while he was playing last year.

However, according to reports from multiple news sources, Bogut is 100 percent healthy heading into training camp for the first time in a while. He says that he’s been working to get to where he can maintain that level of health and, hopefully, play a full season once again.

Obviously having Bogut at full strength will be wildly beneficial to the Warriors. Bogut’s defensive presence in the paint, his underrated offensive ability and his rebounding will all be huge for Golden State. However, Bogut being healthy could also be beneficial to him personally, his bank account especially.

Bogut is entering the final year of his contract before he will become an unrestricted free-agent next summer. Obviously that will give Bogut motivation when he’s on the court, but Bogut will benefit even more if he can stay on the court this season. If he plays to his potential and can submit a full season with Golden State while remaining healthy, the 28-year-old’s next contract could be another hefty one.
