As a lifelong basketball fan, it is funny the way things shake out sometimes. I remember watching Jared Jeffries play in college and even remember his stint in the D.C. area, but it appears his playing career has come to an end. He announced his retirement and will take up a front office position in Denver. Shout out to Adrian Wojnarowski who is a must follow if you are a basketball fan.

Jeffries was always a smart player, so he should be more than capable of whatever he does in his current position. It is unclear if it is more on the scouting or development end, but that will be something good to keep an eye one. Jeffries will bring a wealth of experience to the position because he has played a variety of different roles in his career.
Jeffries seems to have a pretty positive reputation around the league so this should go well for him, but it should be interesting to see if he goes more down the scouting or the coaching route. He was always a fundamentally sound player, so he should prove to be the same as a coach. It would not surprise me to one day see Jeffries back in the spotlight but something tells me he is going to enjoy this break.
