5 Questions Facing Chicago Bulls Entering Preseason
5 Questions Facing The Chicago Bulls This Season
Last season in the NBA was one for the ages. Many teams had injuries to major superstars, but they scratched and clawed their way to the playoffs. The Chicago Bulls were one of those teams. They had so many injuries to players, but managed to keep their heads above water and make some noise.
This season coming up, there will be high expectations for the Bulls. They will be one of the handfuls of teams who will have a legitimate shot against the Miami Heat. The Bulls have the coaching, system and players to matchup against the Heat. Nobody expected the Bulls to win a game against the Heat last season in the playoffs with so many guys on the shelf. But the wizardry of head coach Tom Thibodeau led them to steal a game against the vaunted Heat. Eventually, the Bulls ran out of gas and the Heat ran off four-straight games to advance to the Eastern Conference Finals. The Bulls are just itching to get back on the court with a healthy team and see where they stand against the elite teams.
One of the biggest reasons the Bulls should feel optimistic about this upcoming season is the return of former MVP, Derrick Rose. He missed the entire 2012-13 season recovering from a torn ACL. With Rose claiming himself to be 100 percent, he takes a lot of pressure off the other players.
With preseason right around the corner, there will be many questions swirling around Bulls camp. These are the five questions the Bulls face entering this preseason.

Will Derrick Rose Still Be A Top-5 Player?
Derrick Rose will have high expectations as soon as he steps on the court. Many people have questioned his heart and passion because he did not suit up for the playoffs. It's time for him to deliver and to remind everybody that he is one of the best players in the league.
Will Jimmy Butler Be The Answer At The 2-Guard Spot?
Jimmy Butler improved by leaps and bounds last season. He stepped in and contributed with all the injuries from last season. Now that he has the two-guard starting spot, will he flourish even more? With Derrick Rose back in the fold, Butler should pick up right where he left off.
Will Luol Deng Be Able To Focus With Free Agency Looming?
Luol Deng is a very important piece to the Bulls. Thibs calls him his ultimate weapon. So, why haven't the Bulls extended his contract? Deng will have a lot to prove this season with free agency coming up. He will focus and be ready no matter what happens after this season.
Will The Bulls Have Enough Firepower Off The Bench?
The Bulls bench will be a key factor this season. Just as the case was last season when some guys had to step up, do the Bulls have enough firepower off the bench? They went ahead and picked up Mike Dunleavy from free agency and added rookies Tony Snell and Erik Murphy.
Can They Stay Healthy?
This is a very big question. The Bulls know they have to stay healthy to be able to contend with the Heat. Maybe Thibs will limit minutes of key players to keep them fresh for the playoffs. If they are healthy by the playoffs, they will be a serious problem.
