Center Nerlens Noel Officially Signs with Philadelphia 76ers, Joining AAU Teammate Michael Carter-Williams

When Can Philadelphia 76ers Expect to See Nerlens Noel

Howard Smith-USA TODAY Sports

Well, center Nerlens Noel will officially get to play with his old AAU teammate, Michael Carter-Williams next season if all goes well with rehab. Noel officially signed which you can check out below, and the Philadelphia 76ers have the core of their roster set in place now.

Noel was traded to the 76ers on draft day in a move that likely set the Sixers up to land in the lottery again. This time though, unlike last year, it appears to be by design.

Noel was a quality pickup by the Sixers for many reasons. Firstly, defense. Noel brings a defensive skill set to the table that is totally unique. His offensive game is a work in progress to put it politely, but he seems to be a young man with a lot of drive so we will see how that progresses.

Secondly, the Sixers have no reason to rush Noel back from injury, which should allow for a full recovery from an injury that has railroaded many careers in the past.

Here is hoping that Noel has a full recovery and gets the joy of playing with his AAU teammate again. The young man deserves congratulations for officially signing as well, and we will all look forward to seeing what kind of player he can become.
