Minnesota Timberwolves PG Ricky Rubio Played Limited Minutes for Spain at EuroBasket
Will be keeping a close eye on point guard Ricky Rubio next season to see if there are any confidence issues. It was a strange sight to see this fall when Spain fell in the semi-finals of EuroBasket to a Tony Parker-led France team with Rubio on the bench. Spain instead opted to play Sergio Rodriguez during crunch time of the fourth period and even overtime as well. Rubio looked subdued at the end of the game, and I can imagine that he was disappointed to be riding the pine in a crucial situation. The piece below breaks down the minutes dilemma quite nicely.

Rubio’s shooting is still a work in progress, but having a healthy Kevin Love this season cannot be understated. Hopefully the young Spaniard does not take the minutes snub personally and comes in to next season with a chip on his shoulder. The floor general is lucky have head coach Rick Adleman around as well especially after the health of his wife cast his return in doubt. They have added some nice pieces like Kevin Martin to the fold as well, so there are some definite playoff expectations in Minnesota next season.
For the sake of T-wolves fan, I hope Love is taking it easy on the knuckle pushups this year.
