Over his four years in college while playing for Dayton, forward Chris Wright wasn’t incredibly productive, but he was productive enough to be at least a little impressive. In four seasons and 123 games played for the Flyers, Wright averaged 13 points, 7.2 rebounds, 1.2 assists and 1.3 blocks per game while shooting 48.9 percent from the field.

When he left school and entered the 2011 NBA Draft, though, no team was biting and he went undrafted. He went to Golden State Warriors camp that summer and made their final roster, playing in 24 games, obviously not seeing much of the floor. In 7.8 minutes per game he averaged 2.9 points, 1.9 rebounds and 0.5 blocks per game on 51.1 percent shooting.

Wright has bounced around the D-League since then, despite being invited to Toronto Raptors training camp last summer. Unable to make the Raps’ final roster, he went back to the D-League for last season.

In the D-League last year, Wright looked incredibly solid. In 39 games, 38 of them as a starter, Wright averaged 18.3 points, 9.2 rebounds, two assists, 1.6 steals and 1.5 blocks in 35.1 minutes per game while shooting 51.4 percent from the field and stretch the floor a bit with 36.6 percent shooting from long-range.

Now Wright will come into Raptors training camp once again this year, this time hoping to stick. Though he has shown tremendous ability in the D-League and did well in his limited time in the NBA, it’s hard to imagine him actually sticking, though. Toronto, even though they have their faults, have a forward-heavy roster at the moment, meaning adding a guy like Wright really wouldn’t make a great deal of sense. If Wright plays well in the preseason, though, it’s not hard to believe that he could get a deal from some other team in the league.
