Washington Wizards PG John Wall Sets Playoff Expectations Says “I Embrace It, I love Pressure”

Washington Wizards point guard John Wall is all grown up folks, and he is accepting all the pressure and responsibility that comes with his fancy new contract. And if you are a Wizards fan, the words below should come as music to your Gilbert Arenas loving ears.

Wall has accepted the pressure (in ways Arenas never did) and even says below to “embrace it”, especially the idea the Wizards will make the playoffs.

“Yeah, I feel like the pressure is a lot more,” Wall said Friday during the Wizards’ media day. “I embrace it. I love pressure. There is nothing to hide from. You hide from it, you don’t need to be playing. That’s just something I have — a competitive edge and a dog I think I was born with.”

The Wizards were basically a five hundred team when Wall played last season, and as the excellent article by Michael Lee points out Wall is also entering this year fully healthy which is a good sign.

If Wall plays a full season, then he could be a dark horse selection for the All Star team. That is certainly something I’m rooting for, Lord knows Wizards fans have been through enough in the last few years, and they deserve good news for goodness sakes.
