Utah Jazz Point Guard Trey Burke Has Sights Set on Rookie of the Year
Point guard Trey Burke showed me some toughness in the national championship last year, and that block on Peyton Siva to me was the play of the game and the stupid ref called a foul. What a bummer; we all know what happened next.
Burke is coming into the league with a chip on his shoulder which I like. Also happen to trust Jalen Rose (though in the case of Burke, Rose is most likely biased), who likes Burke’s game a lot.
It is good to know though that Burke is shooting for high goals, which is an encouraging sign. He is making rookie of the year a goal, which I saw in the tweet below so shout-out to Alex Kennedy.

The jumpshot will be key if Burke is going to win the award, because the winner usually leads all rookies in scoring or at least comes close. Think my favorite at the moment is combo guard Victor Oladipo, who is from the DMV so much love for that. When some analysts said he might be the Michael Jordan of this draft class it made my ears stand up a bit.
That is a bit excessive at this point, but we’ll have to see what the rooks bring to the table this season. We are almost there folks.
