Well, you probably already knew that Dominique Wilkins is one of the greatest dunkers in NBA history, and if you are young and have not heard of Wilkins. Youtube the “Human Highlight Reel”, and feel free to send me a gift basket later.
Bet you did not know however that Wilkins recently showed off his new ballet skills.

Willkins was one of those players who never quite got credit for his high level of skill; that is probably because his high flying athleticism took focus away from that. But there was a game Wilkins went toe to toe with Larry Bird, who in my opinion is one of the top five players of all time. Wilkins is not quite in that category, but would definitely saw he is probably the greatest Atlanta Hawk of all time. Doc Rviers might even be okay with conceding that title.
Kudos to Wilkins for showing a different side and here is hoping we see some more of that.
In any case, maybe Wilkins’ agility is part of what made him such an aerial threat so it comes as no surprise to me that the former small forward would be drawn to ballet. Football players have routinely taken dance classes in college to help with their balance, and honestly more basketball players could use a little bit of balance help.
