Predicting Houston Rockets' Final 15-Man Roster

Predicting Houston Rockets Final 15-Man Roster
Troy Taormina-USA TODAY Sports

The Houston Rockets are one of the most intriguing teams heading into the 2013-14 NBA season. They won, or lost depending on who you ask, the sweepstakes for the right to sign Dwight Howard to a max deal. The addition of Howard to a team that was already playoff-caliber makes the Rockets immediate title contenders this season.

This is the second year in a row that the Rockets have made a splashy roster addition. In fact, they had two last year. First, they signed Jeremy Lin and his hype to a deal so he could be the point guard of the future. Then they pulled off the blockbuster trade of the year when they scooped James Harden away from the Oklahoma City Thunder.

Harden lived up to billing, finishing fifth in the league in scoring last season. He didn’t have enough help, however. Defenses were able to focus their attentions solely on him, especially as Lin struggled to break down defenses and find easy shots for others. Howard should change all that.

The reserves in Houston are championship-caliber as well. They have a good mix of young players with upside and veterans who can provide stability and leadership. Good teams have great starting fives, and great teams go eight or even nine guys deep. The Rockets will be as deep as any team in the league this year.

This is going to be a fun season for the Houston fans. They have two sure-fire All-Stars to go along with several other quality players. They have all the players to be holding the championship trophy at the end of the year — on paper that is.

These are players who will make the final 15-man roster for the Houston Rockets this season.

At some point ,Macus Camby will be too old to play in the NBA. I'm just not willing to believe it yet.
