When people think of Rio de Janeiro, the first things that might come up is party scene in Brazil. Not for these Chicago Bulls. The Bulls are headed down to Brazil to take care of some business, train and play the Washington Wizards in a preseason matchup.
It won’t be all business when the Bulls are in Rio. This trip will be some much needed relaxation time and to focus on the upcoming season. The Bulls will have time for some bonding and work on chemistry building. They will see the sights and travel all over Brazil. But the main focus of this trip will be training camp and the game against the Wizards.
This will be the third game on the preseason schedule. The Bulls have looked real good in the previous two games beating the Indiana Pacers and Memphis Grizzlies. All the questions surrounding Derrick Rose‘s knee should be squashed now. Rose has been aggressive and seems to be regaining the confidence to become a top-5 player once again. Now the Bulls face a hungry Wizards team who are trying to establish themselves as a playoff team. This should be an intriguing matchup even for a exhibition game.
Coach Tom Thibodeau is excited about this road trip. He wants his players to enjoy themselves and have fun. He knows they will be professional and work hard when he needs them to. According to Thibs, this is like a road trip in the beginning of the regular season. It’s about team building and striving to win. The Bulls should come back from this trip refreshed and refocused. This trip couldn’t have come at a better time.
