USA TODAY Sports

The Los Angeles Clippers celebrated the finish to their best season in franchise history by firing their head coach and hiring Doc Rivers in hopes to take the next step to competing for an NBA Championship. Clippers tickets for the 2013-14 season show many Clippers fans are ready for championship level basketball too. The average ticket price for a Clippers home game is $173, a 31% increase on the $132 average of last season.

1) 4/6/14 vs Los Angeles Lakers | Avg Price: $457 | Get-in Price: $77

It should be no surprise the ticket with the highest demand in the regular season is the April 6 matchup against the Lakers. The Clippers took the first step to overtaking the Lakers as the better basketball team in L.A. last season and could claim that title for at least the short term during this season. The average price is 164% above average for regular season home games.

2) 2/5/14 vs Miami Heat | Avg Price: $451 | Get-in Price: $98

The Wednesday night game against the Heat is just behind the Lakers in average ticket price, but has a higher get-in cost. The Clippers and Heat split two games last season with L.A. having its third worst combined shooting percentage against any team. Tickets for the game against the reigning NBA champions is 161% above home average.

3) 1/10/14 vs Lakers | Avg Price: $437 | Get-in Price: $89

The first home meeting against the Lakers in the 2013-14 season is more expensive to get-in, but has a cheaper average price. This Friday night game with a 7:30PT start, is sure to be popular ticket in L.A., especially if Lakers star Kobe Bryant has returned to the court by then. The Clippers were 4-0 against the other Los Angeles team last season.

4) 4/9/14 vs Oklahoma City Thunder | Avg Price: $280 | Get-in Price: $50

The Clippers were 0-3 against the Thunder last season, despite averaging over 100 points in those three games. This will be the third meeting of these two teams in the 2013-14 season. The Clippers will have only three games remaining in the season, so this game could have playoff seeds on the line. The average ticket for this game is 62% above the average for Clippers home games.

5) 2/26/14 vs Houston Rockets | Avg Price: $272 | Get-in Price: $32

The Rockets snuck into the playoffs last season as an eight seed, but should be better with the addition of Dwight Howard. Howard averaged 19.3 points and 8.8 rebounds in four games against DeAndre Jordan and the Clippers last year when he was with the Lakers. With a cheap get-in price, the average ticket is 57% above the Clippers’ 2013-14 home game average.

The Clippers were seventh in total attendance last season, outdrawing the Lakers in the Staples Center. With the continued success of a team led by Chris Paul and Blake Griffin, Clippers tickets could be the new hot ticket in Los Angeles.
