Glen Rice Jr. was hiding in the D-League last season, but fortunately the Washington Wizards drafted him this summer because it could end up being a steal. In the Wizards preseason opener Rice Jr. showed me something special and varied, which made my jaw drop.
He showed off a little mid-range game which I was real pleased to see, and then the kicker happened at the fourth quarter buzzer. After a shot to try and tie the game bounced off the rime with seconds left, it looked like the Wizards were finally finished.
From out of freaking nowhere Rice Jr. comes flying in and throws a nasty slam through the cylinder milliseconds before that dreaded red light came on.
Washington Wizards' Glen Rice Jr. Has a Filthy Put-Back Dunk to Force Overtime http://t.co/bJ9jkSrGhL

You can check that dunk out above, and something tells me we have not seen the last of these highlight reel plays from the Wiz this season. His minutes will be something I keep an eye on over the season, and his role could increase if his production level stays high.
The Wizards need all the help they can get to make the playoffs this year as predicted by John Wall and others. If the franchise point guard can get some more help like this from Rice Jr. off the bench, then it will end up being a very crowded backcourt indeed in the District. At least somebody is getting something done out there in DC.
