Indiana Pacers vs. Houston Rockets Preseason Preview

The Indiana Pacers and Houston Rockets will face-off for the second time this week in an overseas preseason matchup. The first game between the two was played in Manila, Philippines, with Houston easily beating Indiana 116-96. This time, they will play in Taipei, Taiwan at 1:30 a.m. EST on Sunday.

Indiana will certainly be looking for revenge after being embarrassed by Houston in the first game on Thursday morning. The Pacers are 0-2 this preseason so far, and are still trying to figure things out. They have started their starting lineup from last season in their first two games, but have added a bunch of new bench players that seem to be causing them some chemistry issues. After only two games so far, those issues may carry over into Sunday’s game.

Houston, on the other hand, is 1-0 after their victory over the Pacers. So, this will be their second game of the preseason, and will obviously try to stay perfect in this upcoming game. They came out and impressively handled the Pacers in Game 1 overseas, and that could be the same result in Game 2 if Indiana’s defense has another poor performance.

Houston’s offense last season was what got them to the playoffs, and with the addition of Dwight Howard, it’s even better. Howard also brings a dominating defensive presence that improves the Rockets all around. If Indiana can’t control James Harden and Howard, along with their underrated role players, this game may get out of hand once again.

I say Houston wins this game as well, but the Pacers will keep it closer than the last game. I predict the final score to be 100-92 in favor of the Rockets.
