Orlando Magic: Victor Oladipo Doing it All Through Two Preseason Games
The Orlando Magic may not be entering the 2013-2014 campaign thinking about a championship in the near future, but what they can be excited about is the fact that they are building for the future to be able to do just that.
Having some young guys in place like Tobias Harris and Nikola Vucevic will prove to be a big difference in their long-term success, without a doubt. Both players feature some phenomenal strengths and a huge ceiling. But, one guy that the Magic can be even more thrilled about is their rookie Victor Oladipo.
The 2nd overall pick in this year’s draft, Oladipo has been doing everything right so far. He’s been asking tons of questions. He’s learning as much as he can from the veterans, even calling himself “SpongeBob” because he feels like he’s been a sponge with all of the information he’s soaked up.
Over the course of the preseason’s beginning, Oladipo has averaged 14 points, 6.5 rebounds, 6.0 assists, 2.0 steals and .5 blocks through his first two games. He’s gotten 27.5 minutes per game off the bench, but looks the part of a starter in the future.
The only complaints I would give about his performances are his three point game and the six turnovers in two games. Oladipo has only made two of 10 threes so far, taking seven of them in his most recent contest.
Though he has some areas needing improvement, as does any rookie, Oladipo has looked great and the Magic should be thrilled with what he brings to the table.
