Exhale, Chicago Bulls Fans; Derrick Rose Back At Practice
There’s an old rap line that goes, ‘relax your mind let your conscious be free’. This should be the theme for the Chicago Bulls and Derrick Rose‘s knee. Relax, Bulls fans; your MVP was back at practice doing what he does best, playing aggressive.
Rose sat out of the preseason game against the Washington Wizards because of “knee soreness” in what was a precautionary move to get Rose some rest. Coach Tom Thibodeau and the Bulls organization made a very smart move to not force Rose to play a meaningless exhibition game. It would have been nice for Rose to play in Brazil and represent the NBA globally, but Rose’s health throughout the regular season is way more important.
Now we must not take Rose sitting out too lightly. The training staff must keep an eye on this matter. The front office and coaching staff must continue to be conservative and cautious to keep Rose fresh. They will monitor how he reacts in practice and games because this is a process he has to go through. Doctors have said there will be some soreness after the surgery, and the Bulls were not surprised.
Rose was back at practice shooting jumpers and moving around with no problems. Even Joakim Noah was back practicing with the team. The Bulls need these guys healthy to be legitimate title contenders. If that means these two important players have to sit out the rest of the preseason, so be it. Fans would rather see them healthy in the regular season than trying to suit up for games that don’t matter.
