Nick Young a Tremendous Offseason Addition By the Los Angeles Lakers

The Los Angeles Lakers are among several teams currently in China competing in exhibition games for the entertainment of China’s massive NBA fan base — estimated at close to 450 million people. The most recent of these preseason games saw the Lakers falling to the Golden State Warriors 100 to 95 on Tuesday evening, but before the final buzzer sounded we got to see a lot more of Nick “Swaggy P” Young and the talent he will be bringing to the Lakers this year.

Young put up 18 points against the Warriors while making 7-of-10 shots and sinking three 3-pointers leading to a more efficient performance than he’s traditionally known for. None doubt his ability to score, but he does have a bit of a reputation for taking any shot he can which will lead to nights with absolutely atrocious shooting percentages. Shooting percentages aside, Lakers fans should be as excited as Young is, who grew up in LA as a diehard Lakers fan, to be playing for the team as they will need all the help in the scoring department they can get until Kobe Bryant returns from injury. Once Bryant does make it back to the court Young’s presence will help relieve pressure off of Bryant on the wing, another perk to having Young with the team.

Through five preseason performances Swaggy P has put up double digit points in four of five games so far with the only game under double digits having finished at nine points. For an old Lakers team clearly in a year of rebuilding, a player like Young will keep fans entertained and will keep the highlights coming. Bringing in Nick Young was a fantastic decision made by the Lakers this offseason.
